Space Helmet
Recently a friend and past fellow Display Coordintor asked me if I wanted to be a part of a show she was putting together called GRAVITY.
I had hoped to make a full Victorian styled space suit but of course time gets away so quickly these days.
I used an older dress as the base and made a helmet and an air container bustle (I didn't manage to get a picture of the bustle yet).
The helmet is made of chipboard, an Ikea salad bowl, beads, some leftover foam, a bit of quilted fabric, plastic tubing, small Ikea dipping bowls, an old number plaque I had from some antique chairs, some plexi from an old work project, a bike spoke from an old work project, some paper-mache and a bunch of metal paint (that is amazing in that it actually corrodes like metal when you patina it). And there are a couple of small Ikea lights stuck in there too.
Oh and these funny things from an electronics scrap yard and a couple of elbow joints and a whole lotta hot glue.
